Toronto’s 13(1Trey) Snaps in Visual for “Westend”

13 (Pronounced One-Trey) is an emerging artist from the 6 whose lyrics are not for the faint-hearted. His music is real & gritty. The UK influenced rapper is the embodiment of the phrase “tongue is mightier than the sword.” Recently releasing his debut single and video titled “Westend,” 13 has received a lot of attention due to his strong lyrical ability. There are not many artists who can pair bars with melody the way 13 does on his latest single. The Toronto spitter spares no one when he gets in the booth.

13 exclaims, “This is my debut release, and I give the audience a glimpse of real-life events in the music video to tell my story. I consider myself a prophet of the streets, one that’ll tell you dark truths about society as a young African man coming from poverty” while discussing his new track. Rayny produced the single, and the music video was directed by Lawraines and Kavin Roberts from his hometown.

The video is no walk in the park. 13 wanted his fans to see the real example of his life. Everything is not so positive in Toronto and his criminal history proves that. At a young age, 13 was in and out of trouble, but now Trey uses his story/voice to impact the lives of others.

13’s music will forever remain filled with passion, just like his musical influences 50 Cent and Nate Dogg. He also looked up to lyrical giants like Jadakiss and Styles P to 2Pac and even Biggie. Be on the lookout for more new music and video releases from 13 and watch and share the “Westend” video out now!
